Just some of my experiences here.

My original gearbox pictured was about 3 drops per side, after a gearbox change to get some idea of what I purchased as backup, leaks terribly.

Crazy idea just came to my scrambled brain;  is it possible to put a latter 365 crown wheel bearing nut with external seal on my early internal seal 336 to double up the sealing power?  I spotted this external seal crown wheel nut on the SJ Sportscars site.

After rebuilding my engine and getting the transmission back in, me and my nephew had a whole load of trouble getting the second (L/H) driveshaft in to set the spacer washers and eventually realised that loosening the trailing arm bolt would give us a load more free play. I didn't touch the rear uprights at all. That might help you.
I now have my own gearbox leaks to address, on  a new post.
