Excellent tip on the AN bolts.  I have not taken mine apart yet but I would not doubt that the threads are grinding away at the uprights.  The pictures that you folks have provided clearly show that I need "high misalignment " ends and spacers.

If you have a civil air port with a parts counter, that would probably be the best place to get AN hardware. You can also get it at fleabay. Usually that would come in quantity - i.e. 10 or more pieces. For onsies twosies, Aircraft Spruce (https://www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/ha/index.html) is a good place to look. Occasionally, Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies has a better price but not usually.

Nice chart for the files, thanks BDA.  I found some very sweet high misalignment ends from Rod Ends Supply.

I have never used theirs before; my preference has always been the Chassis Shop, but I might go with these.  Unfortunately they don't offer rubber boots or caps and it might be difficult to find them to fit due to the width of the bearing.

Be aware that getting high misalignment rod ends will not mean that you won't need spacers for the inner attachment.

A thought: It would probably be best to get spacers like these (https://www.ebay.com/itm/271116858786) to go against the upright. I think something with a broad base on it works better against the aluminum of the upright.

Thanks for the tip.  I'll be machining the spacers myself.  I wonder about boots though...do you think they would trap condensation or am I getting too deep into it again...

Condensation is not what you’re worried about. It’s road grit.

I don’t think anybody’s mentioned yet. You want the Teflon lined rod ends. I don’t think the Teflon lined rod ends have balls that can come out but if some do, you don’t want them.

Here's a spec sheet showing the different grades of rod ends.  Rather than teflon, I believe Sphereco offers a lubricated type that uses carbon fiber.

Absolutely Bryan.  Those are preferable because they won't increase the outside diameter of the joint and squeeze the shock mount.  Do you recall where you sourced them?  It appears as though they sell multiple lengths or did you cut them down in a lathe?

IIRC, I got them from Jegs, but any speed shop should have them.  I found 4 of them in my garage while cleaning up...but to do both arms, you need 8...:)

Just a quick follow up.  I blew it by trying a new source;  Rod End Supply.  Beautiful looking rod ends but they were poorly machined.  Two of them required a breaker bar to rotate the spheres and two were flopping around in the races with about .010" of slop.  All four weld-in bungs were different O.D.s.  Sent them back swallowing the shipping both ways.  Aurora apparently has been bought out by FK who also sells Asian junk along with the left over Auroras so beware.  Long story short, I went to Pegasus Racing and they still have a good stock of old Aurora ends.  Grab any Auroras you think you may need before the shelves are emptied out.

just saw this...any good racing engineering shop or maybe jegs or summit?  I have 4 left if you want them. Don't have an S2, and the angle for a TCS is less acute so, if I ever go that route, I don't think I'll need them.
