I like the idea of setting up cameras to record it happening during a short drive so thank you for the good idea Dreamer.  Might be a bit of a setup but maybe a go pro with cellophane covering the lens mounted somewhere low to capture the fuel pump area.
Obviously I will be continue to investigate and will update any findings or revelations.  Thanks to all for chiming in.

There is a seal that helps keep oil away from the pump diaphragm:

This may be worn.  More likely is that your engine has excessive blow-by which is pressurizing the block and pushing oil out.

Thank you JB.  I am continually out of my depth so I have a question for you.  With an engine that was fully rebuilt under a year and a half ago it shouldn't be experiencing excessive blow by right?  I have put less than a 1000 miles on it.  New pistons, cams, porting, etc (fuel pump rebuilt) really the works.  The engine was up rated to 150 hp at the crank so is there a chance the original glass bowl fuel pump is not up to the task?
I think my first step will be to rebuild the fuel pump and see what the results are.  If results are no better then It may lead to me replacing the pump altogether with a different one and going from there.

A freshly rebuilt engine should be fine, especially if it was rebored rather than just re-ringed.  Pretty easy to tell if you have a blow by issue.  Just look at the flow from the breather.

A good question would be how is your breather routed?  Is it going to the air box as stock?

It is not a stock configuration.  I am using 2 Mikuni HSR 40 carbs that each have their own filter.  The secondary intake manifold had all the emission passage ways sealed off. The pathways that are used to equalize the pressures between the two carbs were left open.
The rear most filter pulls a vacuum to an aftermarket oil catch can that is located under the filter. From there it goes to the engine breather.
I've uploaded two pictures that show how I have routed it.  Since the rebuild the catch can has only collected small amounts of a clear watery fluid.  Not oily, doesn't smell like gas or look like coolant.  Just some strange smelling water vapor.

Well, that's pretty much how I would plumb it.  Does the catch tank get much oil?
