I have a high level (as in its mounted up high!) adjustable front anti roll bar - so you wouldn’t need the original pins on the bottom of the shocks. Again, had a variety of different bars to choose between depending on track/conditions etc.

As has been mentioned, the rear never had an anti roll bar but it’s easier to make one to fit on the rear - just use a genuine 47 for inspiration but adapt the idea to suit the obvious mounting points on your chassis. Removable rear cross member lends itself quite nicely to locate the bar.

Thank you JR, I'd also prefer the top mounted anti-roll bar. Did you do it similarly to Serge (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfDneY0k_cE)? I like Serge's solution very much.

Maybe the Europa never had a stock rear anti-roll bar, because the constructors wanted the car to be less oversteery. As you said, the rear anti-roll bar should be a bit easier to construct compared to the front one. Both anti-roll bars could be a project for me over the next winter.

Serge did it similarly to Banks! Theirs mounts to the top wishbone spindles (like the original) but otherwise is a similar shape, has the adjustable drop links and they are attached into the lower shock mount bolt in a similar way.

Whatever the reason was that Lotus didn’t fit a rear bar, they continued that thinking all the way through Esprit production too….. but all the race cars had them 😉

I did this to move mine. I am probably going to redesign the adjustable clamp.

The car was very predictable with the soft springs. Absolutely no tendency to understeer.

Yep . . so what rear spring rates are you using?

In my mind, you have enough HP to induce understeer coming out of a slow corner, and if you can't, then my thinking is that the front needs to go harder so as to improve to a front/rear balance.

The rear springs are also very soft. 200 lbs/inch. Now, front and rear spring rates are the same, but I guess, the rear springs will get harder, sooner or later.

Of course, the springs can be chosen shorter. Didn't think about that logical idea.

Regarding the anti-roll bar, I don't have one. Thus, that will be a good point to improve the suspension. To be frank, I don't even know the construction of the stock rear anti-roll bar. I have to do some research on that. The front could be difficult, as my Protech shocks don't have mounting threads for the anti-roll bar like the well-known Spax or Koni shocks.

Rear bars can make getting power down hard on exit. If you go with the Quaife itt wouldn't matter but if you are open it will not be fun.
