Remote Oil Filter
« on: Monday,February 14, 2022, 05:02:48 AM »
Does anyone know the correct OD diameter sandwich plate for a Twin Cam? I know the oil filter thread is 3/4 - 16, but I cannot find what size the O- ring or OD should be. The retail websites that sell them do not seem to have an application for the Twin Cam.

I don’t have an answer for you but instead of looking for a twin cam, try looking for a 1600 Pinto, Capri, or Cortina. Here’s one I found: https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/2021/073.pdf

A Fram PH966B oil filter fits the Lotus TC.  It is 2.984" wide.  Looking at the pdf Mr. BDA posted, the o-ring diameter is 2.5" and should work just fine.

Some oil cooler take offs come with a built in oil thermostat which is very useful if you are fitting an oil cooler.  That's the way mine is set up.

I use the Canton billet unit shown in the Pegasus catalog for the 3/4-16 thread
