Got this in the mail today …. the errors are interesting … but I love the look of the car with the features from various years ….
-
Unfortunately, I couldn't read a lot of it even after blowing it up. I'm one of those odd balls who not only prefers the TC styling to the S1/S2 styling but I really like it for itself. I think the S1/S2 features they added to this car make it even nicer. I have met a guy who had a NACA duct in his bonnet for his ventilation so maybe whoever drew this had seen that before??

I made it bigger BDA

The rest of it ….

I love my tcs. I fit perfectly in it, and the performance, gearbox,150hp engine, and set up suspension make it awesome to drive.
I have never been in a s1 or s2, so I can't comment on them. I am sure they are fun.
Btw, I love that brochure.

Very nice brochure! 8)
I'd love to have a similar poster of an S1 with the full 'buttresses'

Maybe soon I’ll give you the opportunity to drive an S2, I’m sure it will fall short of beautiful car.
I’m sure one ride you’ll have a list for me to adjust.
Turbo,
Nice find, can’t wait to see it on a monitor.

That’s a Banks built car, it was used to do the Liege - Agadir - Liege rally in 1997. Richard drove that car along with Ian Wilson (worked there at the time). You can see in the head on pic in the article that the column was mounted high (the seat also had all of the padding removed apart from a small sliver of foam so that Richard could fit in it easier for the long distance to be covered) - I think these features where altered when the car was sold.
It has the full Bank’s chassis, a Vauxhall 1600 8 valve engine and an ng3 5 speed box. You can see it in the following article still wearing the stickers from the rally.

Just found the article about the rally, the yellow Banks 47 that also took part was a 2.0 Vauxhall 16 valve engined car with a Banks chassis, I’m pretty sure that it was the first transverse engined car that Richard had built.
It was loaned to the people that drove it on the rally and I remember the owner encountering a very large exotic Bug that flew out of the dash vent once it had been returned to him…! (It was dead but he didn’t know this as it hit him and was somewhat alarmed….and the windows only opened slightly at the rear edge)

So, will an early S1 door fit on a TC?

Yes, I have S1 doors on my S2 type 65, the Banks twin cam shell in the pics is standard (with the S1 scallops added to the rear of the door aperture) and has S1 doors fitted. Banks has moulds for the various door types.

Yes-ish. You'll have to sort out door latches. Probably best to modify the body for the S1 type.
