Found this today .... http://www.amdl.co.uk/europa/europa.htm ... notice it is on a Twin Cam with rear panel cut out like an early car ...
Since it is Banks they probably know what they are doing!!

It’s a pretty simple design, though the support frame would take some doing. I wonder if they would produce more of them if asked? But, a diesel Europa?
-
NA only got diesel Smarts in the oughties. Europe had gasoline powered ones as well. NA got those in 20-teens. The gasoline engine was what Richard used. This all nearly 20 years ago, BTW.

Some technical diffuser info ... https://www.racetechmag.com/2017/08/willem-toet-explains-motorsport-diffusers/
-
Looking at the images in the link, it seems on a standard Europa there would need to be a lot of work-around to clear the gearbox and deal with the exhaust.
-
That article also idealizes the car to one without suspension. They strongly suggest the diffuser front edge start at the end of the flat floor of the body. That part could be adapted to the Europa underside. But what about the articulating rear suspension? On the other hand, F1 cars must have solved this effectively. So how do they get the diffuser funnel past the suspension? Probably some interesting mechanical design there.
