They probably think either the bubble is about to burst or maybe it's "peak celebrity" time, whatever the reason they're getting rid of a few. Scroll down about half way to get to the Elans.

Sometimes the imagination is more fulfilling than reality, Jim.

I can tell you that, having worked behind in the studio technical end of the entertainment/broadcast field at the start of my career...what you see after the camera starts rolling bears little resemblance to the person in front who walked in the door to the studio 2 hours ago.
