Another post got me to thinking about my interior.
Original black for the S2 but I am in the high desert and it does get warm in the summer.
I've thought about going to a basket-weave cloth rather than the original vinyl if such could be found.
So far only the vinyl looks right, so is the original actually a weave that breaths or just a stamped-in look?
I kind of like the later "Oatmeal" but if I am not going original maybe go with a shade of blue to coordinate with the exterior.
Car came to me with Navajo Blanket seat inserts, probably comfortable and cool in summer but looked a bit odd.

The original vinyl doesn’t breathe.

I think you need to be as comfortable as possible. Light colored car with light colored cloth interior makes a big difference in North Carolina. On a hot day (90 or so), I not really uncomfortable in my car. I won’t lie and say I’m comfortable but it probably couldn’t be much better without A/C. (The next thing I’m going to look into is having my windshield tinted.) I would expect it would make an even bigger difference in Nevada. When my car was new, I did drive through the Nevada desert in the afternoon. It was not fun! But I was a lot younger then so I would expect it to be even less fun now!

I think oatmeal color in a blue car would look great. And it would be much better in a desert climate than some dark vinyl.

I also live in a hot climate so had similar thoughts.
Ended up replacing the original & damaged basket weave vinyl with 'black watch tartan' for the seat cushions and door card inserts.
The green kinda went with the green exterior and I thought it looked OK.

I will have to look for a blue Tartan.
Maybe there is a Gowdy Tatan? (Step-Grandfather).

Founds some blue basket-weave cloth.
But will I find a matching Vinyl for the bolsters?
If not I suppose a contrasting shade may work.
