HI:
I just got back from doing some maintenance on my S2.
Its at a family farm a couple of hours away so each time I go I have to have things planned out.
How long is the throttle cable on an S2?
I may take a universal up on my next trip just in case surgery is required.
Thanks

Someone will probably prove me wrong but that doesn’t seem like a number someone would know. I think I would bring a cable and tools to trim it to size.

HI:
I guess I need a length that would be long enough.
No one wants to be too short!
-
Yes! That would be the first criteria! :D
I just did a quick and dirty measurement on my car from the pedals, to about the seat belt mount, up the backbone and over to the passenger side and then about a foot or so into the engine compartment. I came up with about 90". Keep in mind, I have a TCS and I'll reiterate the my measurements were rough. I would try to get 10 feet of cable and expect to waste some which would be a lot better than getting there and it being too short!
Of course if you're ordering it from someone like r.d. or DBE, you can ask how long you need. :)

I’ll check my cables . I did replace my cable assembly, my PO purchased it from rd and had it in plastic for years. Let yo know tomorrow.

Internal cable length is approximately 90”, sheath is approximately 84”.

HI:
Thanks Dakazman !!
I can go up some what more prepared.
My garage space at the house is divided up between my wife and I .
She insisted that her car has 1/2 (cheaper than a lawyer).
My side is taken up with a Sunbeam Tiger and two motorcycles.
This farm situation is ok but it takes a drive.
I have it in a ventilated bag which rests on a cement floor.
It's the cheapest vehicle in the structure if you know the values of combines and mega tractors.

Your another guy with a tiger? Not me but I do know another member who is . What year is the tiger?
I’m staying out of the garage space allocation, I get three of the three only because the insurance company requires them garage kept.

HI:
Its a 65 with the original 260 in it.
When I first got it (30 years ago)I just wanted a loud convertible for the summers(short).
Over time its become a collector item and that wasn't what it started out as.
The 69 Europa has 30K on it and it is in the realm of "collector".
I have an 807 waiting for transplant but the 69 has a Hermes so the replacement waits.
Everything you had as a kid(cards,comics,...) is suddenly worth an Ebay fortune.
I started collecting pinball machines decades ago(much to my wife's chagrin and my sons glee).
You know as well as I how many"good deals" one can find.
I have had to say ,"Bernie go read a book" and don't buy that .....

It just goes to show you what 50 years of ownership does. My weber ,"Hermes', conversion I changed the entire assembly.

HI:
Yes the Europa was purchased in 1972 but lucky I had a company car for a decade or so and then came the "family mobiles" so it got spared the slings and arrows of a daily driver. The Solex etc got replaced with the Hermes somewhere in the early 80's.
What did you change the old drive to?
I am debating if a re and re with a 807(rebuilt with dual Webers)is worth the effort as nothing seems difficult at the beginning.
