Greetings from Chicagoland,
My name is Mark and a little over a month ago I purchased 1974 Europa TCS 4246R. The car was recently pulled (literally... locked brakes and all) from long term storage by a fellow local Lotus collector. He got the car to run (and roll LOL), and I took over from there. After several evenings and weekends and a couple packages from RD, we are now running pretty well, stopping (removed leaking Girling servos, replaced rear wheel cylinders, a few brake line mods), and doing laps of my little neighborhood (as long a no backing up is required ::) I'll start a separate thread on that).
4246R joins my 1961 Seven America as Loti stablemates. That car has SCCA F-Production race history on the East coast and came out of 40+ years storage. The Seven is in a similar "laps around the neighborhood" state.
I hope to get the Europa a bit more roadworthy before the snow flies and then decide what to really do with it.
This is not my first Europa, I had an S2 a looooong time ago...a story for another time.
Looking forward to learning from the forum and helping where I can.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark and :Welcome: from across the pond.
It's fascinating how many of these barn finds come to light these days, congratulations on finding another one. And as you'll find out, we all like reading the restoration/getting it going/cursing at it tales so post a few photos of the journey when you can.
cheers
Brian

Your 4246 is listed in the registry as of 11/2004 with a build date of 1/74 and original L26 Lagoon blue.
Good luck & post some pics when you can...I've taken the liberty to add your profile photo!

It’s the Harbinger of Boom!
