My son sent me this link.
A little optimistic I think.

It is beautiful but I think almost $67,000 is very optimistic!
Are prices higher over in England? Would 35,000 pounds be reasonable? That would still be optimistic IMHO.

Well...... I would guess the owner is trying to recover the money put into it; what elevates the asking price, is that it appears all of the rebuild works has been performed by 3rd parties.
Talking to a well known Europa specialist in the UK he once commented "there was no money in rebuilding Europa's, (in the UK), as the cost would be in the order of £50K to the client....."
Mmmm.... and from my present experience, if you rebuild one yourself, (only buying parts), you will be very lucky to break even....
So... worth it or not ???

Two others listed on the same site at £34k and £35k, so £34-£35 is about right for an immaculate TCS in the UK.

Most of the replacement parts are cheap.
It is just the paint and interior trim which costs about £12k all in.

I have to disagree with this - I have been quoted £12K to respray the body on my TCS, (no accident damage), by one of the UK's leading authorities in this field. (And he travelled to see the car).
Thus far, I have spent £4000 on machining plus parts for the engine, £5000 on chassis and suspension and a £1000 on brakes and it goes on and on, plus plus plus.... Please remember there are NO labor costs in these figures.
Please PM me a contact in the UK who can do Europa paint (properly) and interior trim for £12K.

I had my car stripped of all paint, very basd accident damage repaired and painted by two ex Lotus bodyshop people in Attleborough Norfolk for £7k.
I had my car re-trimmed by a Lotus specialist sub contractor for £2.5k in Hethersett Norfolk. His father did the steering wheels and seats for F1 in the 70s and 80s.
I have spent less than £1000 on every engine I have overhauled.
I have spent less than £300 on the brakes on every car.
Just speaking from my experience of 6 basket cases I have imported, stripped and renovated.

General comments only:
Cost of component repair depends on the component's condition and how fussy you are. There's a lot of shite home rebuilt engines out there. Paint costs are high due to the amount of prep work required to get a lasting result. Mine was beyond gorgeous when I picked it up. Three months later the first stress crack started to reappear. If you find someone good that undervalues their work, costs can be quite reasonable and the work good. Lots of body shops go under for this reason.
