Title: Hello
Post by: Triton on Monday,March 15, 2021, 02:29:00 PM
Hi,  Just like to introduce myself, my name is Stuart and i live in Lancashire UK. I have bought a 73 Twin Cam Special. The car had been partly restored over a 10 yr period by the previous owner. It's had a new chassis ,discs ,drums, twin alloy tanks. Also new shock absorbers, minilite rims and tyres. The car was originally red but it was JPS colours when the previous owner bought it but it is now back to red.I have rebuilt the engine and have had the 352 box rebuilt, the seats were rotten at the bottom but a friend cut the rot out and welded all new panels in, I bought new seat covers from Banks and another friend who was a upholsterer  fit them ,they look perfect now, I made a new dashboard and recovered the dash pad and i am ready to get the screen refit. I am going to strip the doors and re-anodise the window surrounds next. I had a 1970  Europa in 1975/76 which had cosmic alloys ,a 45 webber, 4 branch exhaust manifold, hi-com pistons and a different cam. I did not realize then but found out years later that it was a ELSE conversion , The reg was OKW 124H would like to know if it's still out there. I will get someone to post some photos of my rebuild to put on the forum as it's too technical for me !. Thanks  for letting me join the group.  Stuart....

Hi Stuart and  :Welcome:

It sounds like you're well on the way with your car, I guess you're planning on this summer for the first drive ?

There are a couple of folks on here with ELSE cars but I don't know if one is yours. From the DVLA site the last log book was issued in 2014 and it looks to have been off road since 1979 so I guess it's in someone's barn or maybe a track car ?

Posting pics is easy enough, the most common problem is having too large a file size. Modern digital cameras often take massive file sizes but there are instructions on how to re-size at the top of the "Garage" forum.

Cheers
Brian (who used to live just across the Mersey from you in Runcorn, but that was a long, long time ago !)
