A friend in South Africa writes:
This is what a South African yacht designer has been doing in his spare time - and showed a Euopa in front of a small plane
Its the car not the plane!
The car has just won the best on show in its class and in the Wings & Wheels show in the USA.
The owner is looking for a Renault Gordini engine upgrade for his standard 1600cc Renault engine.
Can anyone help please?

:Welcome: since I haven’t seen your previous post!.
Is he looking for the complete engine? This may be a more expensive way but I’ve read some Renault Alpine A100’s had them installed so you may want to run searches for that car. That car was not imported into the states but you may fair better finding them there.
Only my 2 cents! Maybe you can post some pictures of this best in show Europa?

An 807 or 843 can be redone to Gordini specs but it’s expensive and you need a good core. There are no cams but blanks are available. Mine was done by Alpine America in Montreal. Tom

Get a complete engine as some bits are special to the hemi engine and very hard to find on their own. The best source is from an early Renault 17G. You can use the 5 spd transaxle as well. Not many around now though. Some dated but still useful info can be found in these two pdfs:

HI:
While on the topic of engines, does anyone have a PDF for the 807(16TS) engine rebuild?
I have the shop manual for the S2 but that doesn't have the do and do nots for a hemi rebuild.
Thanks

This site has a a couple that loosely cover the crossflow engines:

Myself, I bought Renault 16G and 17G manuals off ebay.

HI:Yes thanks I have gone to that sight before and found some good info.
I rebuilt the S2 engine years ago and it turned out well.
I remember that with the wet sleeves you have to be religious about protrusion of the sleeves so leakage doesn't occur.
Probably my biggest concern will be setting the valves properly on the hemi so if there is a clear, concise method some where that would be most appreciated.
