Title: Bracket - Ashtray Mounting
Post by: Europa73 on Friday,February 03, 2017, 09:20:48 AM
Hi all,

I just notices that I am missing my Bracket - Ashtray Mounting that attached to the dash.

Does anyone know where I can find one - or as this seems like a simple pice of sheet steel with a few folds can anyone share the dimensions on this thing?

Many thanks,

If you're talking about the steel tray that the ashtray fits into, it's a piece of stamped steel. You could probably make your own out of resin or plastic by using the recess of the center console as a mold and paint it chrome.

This is what I have on my TC - I can measure up if you wish.

My ashtray is missing the 'stubber' which actually holds it in place - doubt if I will ever find one of those...

Hi Steve,

if you would be good enough to measure both those plates - that would be fantastic!

I greatly appreciate the offer.

Cheers,

OK... Hope this gives you the info you require - I have only put dimensions on the holes that are used. You had better check that some of the dimensions relate to your car - such as gap between window switches on your console (Mine is not original being fibreglass and fabric covered) - and holes in the ashtray. I wonder if the top bracket should have 90 degree bends - but mine hasnt - so I have shown it as it is...
