Funniest Trunk Monkey Commercials

I recently reminded myself of Suburban Auto Group’s trunk monkey commercials. I think they stopped selling them because of legal problems.

I can't help but smile at those ads, never heard of it before. Might be a tight squeeze in a Europa though !

We had chimps advertising tea when I was a kid, not any more though. The ads were very popular but were stopped because the chimps got so attached to humans that they couldn't live with other chimps. And so at the end of their "working life", they couldn't live with other chimps or be released into the wild.  Full tale here....

I would expect these days the idea of dressing chimps up like that would be a non-starter, but back then it was just part of life. The guy even mentions Chimp's Tea Parties being staged at major zoos to attract visitors.

I suppose there is always some unfortunate damage to the species we domesticate. Maybe sadder for chimps since they are so intelligent and close to humans. After all, look what we've done with wolves... We've bred some of them into chihuahuas and dachshunds!.

Trunk Monkey is hilarious. I never heard of him before. I wonder if there is a compact version that may fit in a Europa. Perhaps, a trunk spider monkey or similar.
