Title: Progress on 74-2603R
Post by: Nisswa Collision on Wednesday,October 21, 2020, 12:51:26 PM
The red car is how I got it and the other is it, yesterday. Funny how it can make my '90's Aspire look huge.

The "great start" was 9 months ago. I just got the engine back this week. All the components are done. Only assembly and adjustments left. Oh, and I have to take that water pump cassette back out and press the gilmer pulley on further to make them line up. I'm prepared for the electrics to have issues, so there's always that. Oh, and I haven't put any liquids in yet. There's always a leak somewhere. Hopefully it isn't the engine or trans needing to come back out, but that would be par for the course.

I had a leak on one of my coolant lines a month after I got it running. I even capped them and pressure tested as they looked bad. Engine came back out.

I R&R'd my water plumbing. The gromets were all shot but I have zero corrosion in my cooling system. I bought it in Northern Minnesota so we can be sure it always had plenty of anti-freeze. I was impressed with the lack of corrosion inside the block too.
