Very similar. What width is the trim you used?

It comes in all sorts of sizes and I just picked something which was about the same width and as flat as possible.  The original stainless trim on the Elan was 3/4" wide and checking my Ebay history I bought 20mm wide chrome strip in a 5m roll for £12 back in May this year.

The thing I noticed was that some profiles are flat and this is 3mm at most whereas others are almost rounded and protrude more from the bodywork, which leaves the cut ends showing the obvious plastic filler.   At 3mm deep it's very close to the original stainless and a touch of silver paint at the cut ends hides it very well.   Ebay has loads for sale ranging from 3mm to 25mm wide so there's a good chance you'd get something to match.
