Title: UK to US freight consolidation and forwarding service?
Post by: Richard48Y on Sunday,October 16, 2022, 09:27:03 PM
I did a search and the only result I found was from several years ago, unanswered.

Hoping with all the new tech this may have become easier?
Need to order parts from the UK and Belgium.
Suspecting that trying to consolidate the UK parts might become a VAT issue?
Hope is to save on shipping, and with bulky items like a RS fuel tank in the mix a slow boat may be best.
But if it's going to add 20% VAT to get it all in one place I should probably just take the individual freight hits.

Any significant freight price difference from different vendors?

I've ordered from the UK, shipped to US. VAT is only added for them. At least that was the case a few years ago.

Same here.  Stuff I've ordered since I adopted 3291R from overseas has always come out less than their 'including VAT' price.

We ordered windscreens from the UK earlier this year, there is no VAT for exported items.

Maybe I was not clear.
My concern is that if I order parts and have them shipped domestically from one supplier to another that might be viewed as a domestic sale and VAT applied.
20% VAT is usurious and  :-X

I'm just wondering if a vender will take responsibility for accepting an item from another vender and then package them together for one shipment. (I think that's what you're asking). Have talked to the vender directly about this?

According to an email this morning I should have no trouble getting the pistons into the shipment with the trailing arm, fuel tank, valve cover, etc.  :)
