Title: Hagerty article on a Europa master cylinder swap
Post by: 3929R on Wednesday,May 17, 2023, 05:46:44 AM
This article is a good read, though I liked some of his earlier articles better.

I did the F10 master cylinder swap on my Europa and it is pretty straightforward, but "straightforward" doesn't make for nearly as entertaining of a story.

How straightforward is it to remove that top nut?  I'm in the process of figuring that out right now...did you twist the old reservoir (which pretty much will ruin the 50 year old plastic) as he did or go about it some other way?

FWIW, I have both a Nissan and a TRW cylinder from the triumph range...so, deciding which one to put in is an academic exercise...

I can't remember removing the top nut. Either it's simply been too long or it was not a big enough problem to be memorable. Would a crowfoot wrench work on it?

It’s 3/16 brake line.  The fittings are 3/8NF or 3/8” x 24 tpi.
