'72 S2 Europa on BaT
« on: Thursday,January 28, 2021, 09:04:26 AM »
There have been a fairly steady stream of Europas and Elans on BaT recently. I believe this one is called a '72 because it was first titled in that year. It looks pretty nice and seems to run well. It has a few upgrades like chin spoiler, Brand Lotus wheels, adjustable rear lower links, and after market steering wheel but otherwise generally stock.

Has 1470 engine from an R16, so low compression, less lift, smaller valves.  Just a heads up.

BDA is correct; the VIN would indicate it was built March of 1971.

Now corrected to a 1565 from a Federal R16 which should be good.

Sold for $15,500.  Seemed like a fair price.

I thought/hoped it would bring a bit more. It seemed like a pretty nice example.

I wonder what it would have gone for if equipped with a TS head. Webers, etc.?
