Title: New Renault Cross flow engine is finished. HP and Tprque chart

Hi Europa fans.  My 'Covid Project' was to work through the details for a proper racing Renault Cross flow Engine.
(See images attached) 

154HP @ 6100 RPM and 145 Ft/LB torque at 4800 RPM.

For the final assembly I had Arnie Loyning  complete the work and dyno tune.
Arnie at Loyning's engine service in Portland OR has a lot of experience with Renault.

Pretty cool! It's good that Loyning knows Renault motors too. I remember his name from when I was racing an age ago. IIRC, he was a big name in Formula Ford motors. It looks like he did a nice job for you.

Hard to tell from a picture but make sure your carb mounts are not too tight.

154 hp sounds good!  Care to share what was done to it?

Start by reading Richard Mann's fabulous posts regarding the 807 Renault engine.

Pistons and liners from Meca parts in France (domed pistons to increase compression)  BTW, you will need to pocket the pistons for the larger valves.  And you will need to bore the block for the larger diameter of the liners.

Use the longer stroke Renault crank (again read Richard Mann's post = 84mm crank)

Loyning has their own cam grind - I'll find and post the specs.  There isn't a huge increase on the lift - because the rocker arms in these engines are very long, the duration is much bigger than a stock engine.
Regarding the carbs:  On the Dyno we tried Weber DCOE 45 and DCOE 40.  The 40s are better.  Particularly to move the torque peak down to a lower RPM.  When racing and exiting a turn you will want that torque.

The Webers are mounted on soft mounts to decrease vibration.  You can get the soft mounts from carbs unlimited  https://www.carburetion.com/Weber/WeberDCOEParts.asp

I started the project last March.  Three months of that time everything was shut down.
