Title: 907 Engine
Post by: surfguitar58 on Monday,February 19, 2018, 11:58:33 AM
Has anyone ever tried to shoehorn a 907 engine into a Europa? Here's one on eBay. Comes with a basket case Elite for $1274.

I did think of trying as the engines seem relatively cheap, but I think they are significantly longer, so the cam belt etc at the front would hit the bulkhead.

Plus getting a suitable gearbox to fit would be a "challenge".

Plus it is a "slant" design. Just wondered if anyone tried it and if it would fit. 2 liter 16 valve and all Lotus too, but you are right, probably more trouble than it's worth.

Wow, that is a beauty! Lengthened by 4 inches someone said. Unavoidable with that engine/trans-axle combo I suppose. Still a real stunner.
