That's great, Mecky!! Congratulations! The car seems to be running really well! It's too bad about that spin. I was really hoping you'd make a pass on the GT-40 stick.

*** DELETIA****

...why does everything have to be a challenge

Never surprised at anything I come across.  I think it comes down to the manual assembly nature of the car and the 'as it comes down the line, make it fit' nature of the production.  EVERYTHING takes a bit of 'fettling'.

Turbo, I feel your pain,  :I-agree:
I made a bracket for the clutch cable also. my hoses weren't perfect either off Ebay ,but I'm sure you'll work it out. Sometimes it feels like I'm going in circles so then I start another task that will also give me a problem. Makes sense doesn't it? :headbanger:
 so just keep moving forward.

The first race event of 2024 is in the books. New engine and gearbox configurations work nicely. I finished 2nd in class in both races against competition of four younger cars, the newest built in 1998. That's a solid start and brings a bunch of championship points. :beerchug:

As a first sneak peak, here is some onboard footage from my 2nd race at Spa-Francorchamps last weekend. I tried to bring the fight to a Ford GT40, but lost due to a driving error: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXdSovqKufM

New stainless transfer tubes arrived at last.  :)
Single cut each made them much less expensive to ship.
Shipping was still more than the parts.  :headbanger:
A little disappointed that the bends are not as nice as original tubes.
Now I need to find someone very good to put them back together.  :welder:
Even with that I have saved a couple hundred dollars over the US sources.

Yes, the VIN on my TCS was written on the top “shelf” under the window on both doors. That’s how I know that both my doors are original, even though the driver door was extensively damaged and repaired by a PO. Protip (actually, amateur…) scrape the paint out of the VIN casting so paint doesn’t “erase” it.
