S2 carb
« on: Friday,September 03, 2021, 03:55:55 AM »
Hi

What carb are people using on a standard 1565 motor

I got mine with a Weber 28/36 DCD, in process of checking jet sizes
Anyone else using this carb?

Thanks
Tony

The DCD is a good choice with no strangler choke mechanism in the way of air flow like the DGV.  Here are base jetting recommendations from the files section of the Europa groups.io list:

venturi    P/24    S/27
aux venturi  P/4.5    S/4.5
main jet    P/130    S/145
air corrector    P/180    S/200
emulsion tube    P/F23    S/F23
idle    50
pump jet    55
pump discharge    50
float level    5

I do not run a DCD.  These are not my settings.  Any jetting recommendation is just that, a recommendation.  Final settings should be checked using a wide-band O2 sensor and an A/F ratio gauge.

Thanks for the info
I also got this jetting info off a Weber group

28/36  DCD (36/36 DCD) R16 engine jetting  Primary Choke 25mm Sec 26mm Aux 4.5/4.5, Main 135/145 Eml tube F30/F30 Air 200/215 Idle .50 /.70 Pump Jet .60 Pump Spill 0.00,  N/seat 1.75 float 6.0mm

Gives me some options to look at

Hi

I put all the jetting info into a spread sheet, including current set up

As you can see, both idle and main jets had the biggest size in the primary venturi

I've swapped these around now but not started it yet
The bigger jets in the primary venturi would explain my black plugs!

Not had chance to check further than idle and main yet, hence the question marks
