Hi Lee,
Thanks for that photo, I can see how it goes together now. That's a really neat bit of fabrication and I like the way it's done. Thank you.
I've followed the thread on the yahoo groups but haven't chipped in myself simply because a) reactions are very polarised into for/against and I don't want to start any wars, and b) written descriptions in emails aren't as good as words and pictures together in getting the point across.
As you say, it's a solution to a problem and one I started looking at earlier this year when I thought I might have a gearbox problem. My first thought was "get an NG3" then I found out about the side load issue being different with those boxes and hence the need for more mods. As it happened what I thought was a gearbox problem turned out to be poor-quality tinkering by the owner (
) and hence the NG3 was sidelined while I got on with other things.
But I do think it's a better long term solution than the driveshaft upper link and reckon it could reduce rear suspension maintenance if nothing else. Although I like to keep the interiors and exteriors looking relatively OEM, I'm not averse to updating or improving mechanics so it will slowly move it's way up the "possibles" list I think.
