Title: Oil pressure pipe
Post by: rjbaren on Monday,October 21, 2019, 07:39:05 PM
I received my oil pressure pipe today from rdEnterprises and I am not sure which end is for the gauge and which is for the engine.  I would think the end with the 90 degree bend would be for the gauge and the straight end for the engine.  If I were to put the line in without asking it would be wrong.
Does anyone know which end to put through to the front of the chassis for the gauge?
Thank you.

I think that you're right that the 90° end goes on gauge but I have my own hose for oil pressure and it has 90° ends on both sides but I'm pretty sure the 90 goes on the gauge. There is a lot more room for it to bend at the engine than behind the gauge.

On my 74 TC the 90 bend is at the engine

Right angle at engine. Don’t loose the small rubber o ring, that goes on the gauge side.

Glad I asked.  I put it in backwards last night.  Thank you for the responses.

I'm glad Certified and 1973JPS replied because I was wrong!  :headbanger:

I'm sure it would have worked either way, but one way will a lot easier.

I believe the brass fitting on the engine block has a 45' taper, and the connection to the gauge has a flat connection with a small fibre washer.

Therefore the pipe should only give a seal fitted one way around.
