5/16" UNF, I thought?
Anyway, no matter . . . if the front hub pic is an indication of general condition, save yourself some time, aggravation and possible damage to the bobbins or the fibreglass it's mounted in.

Use a hacksaw blade or a reciprocating saw to cut them out.
Much better to sacrifice a couple of pieces of cheap 1/2" steel rod than risking some of the potential down sides, I reckon.

Thanks for the responses guys.
To answer the various issues. 4129R -Sadly the air filter is new, so no lack of breathing. BDA - I bet you say that to all the guys but I've not got the hang of uploading yet! JBC - Good point, not sure that it is a low pressure pump. I put regulator on to 'ensure' low pressure. The pump is a Facet Posiflow. Any suggestion as to a good replacement or should I go back to a mechanical pump?  Will try temporary gravity feeding fuel from a can to see if any difference. The valves will need checking though. Clifton - Wide band video link interesting.

BDA  in lieu of photos members may be familiar with the car as I rather foolishly bought it at auction, unseen, for far too much £££(after one too many glasses of wine). Bought from Mathewsons (see Youtube Mathewsons Lotus Europa April 2022). Mathewsons are a well known classic car auctioneer in UK (Bangers & Cash TV programme) and having auctions on a Friday night on-line, as they did then, was a masterstroke in marketing!! As stated, I discovered the car needed a new chassis so lesson well learned - Don't drink and bid!! :-)

Mine worked very well, and they look very similar if not identical to those on your eBay link.

At that price, it is certainly worth getting them and making them fit. The original ones are very cheap and rust easily.

As it happens, the left seat is out of the car.

This is what it looks like attached to the seat. I used 5/16" UNF bolts to attach the frames to the floor, and over drilled the holes in the oval bobbins so the bolts slide through and are attached with Nyloc nuts and washers under the car.

The runners slide on ball bearings, so when you lift the central bar, the seat slides very easily, unlike the originals.

Note the new webbing on the seats.

The ends of the hinge pins are tapped in 5/16 coarse IIRC. That should help when you are ready to take them out.

HI:
I had the same problem with a 45 on my Hermes conversion.
Put in a pressure regulator set for 2 psig ..end of problem.
It was very disconcerting that smell of gas heading down the 401.

Thanks again Brian - a job that will be coming up in the next month or two as I need to deliver it to the sprayers with doors removed - they were particular about that - it's almost like they knew!  ;D

Yep, looks like the access hole to remove the door pin (now there's a job to look forward to  :)  )

If you get underneath & look up you should see the bottom of the 1/2" steel door pin. This is threaded (1/4" ?) which you can make up a slide hammer arrangement to pull it down/out with the car in the air.  In practice, if this is the first time around then it's more than likely rusted solid, release fluid might get it loose but be prepared to cut it away or get mole grips from inside the door to get it started.

That hole under the door looks like the access tot he door hinge pin. Looking up it, does it align with the hinge bobbins in the body?

Good shout - there's a "matching" but tidier hole on the driver's side, and I can feel the bottom of the hinge through the hole.

You’ll have to pull it down and see what’s up.  Times when mind was leaking enthusiastically were when the inner ring was not seated properly.
