Mountune Oil Pan Baffle

<< < (2/3) > >>

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have just bought a similar baffle insert from Kelvedon in the UK. Its not as fancy as it doesn't have the valves, but other wise the same. I'm surprised to see that machine screws are the method of choice in securing these to the sump. I have an aversion to stuff like that getting loose. Is this common practice do we know?

I was surprised as well. but I just used some lok tite. Subsequently, I had engine problems not related to the baffle and had to do a rebuild and the screws had not loosened. I also have never lost oil pressure on the track, so I guess it works.

Cheers cazman...I'll give it a go with loctite  ;D
Interestingly my version retains the original baffle.. I'm thinking because it is a more basic control system without the valves perhaps. More accurately it was supplied with an identical baffle to what I already had in the sump.

I'm glad the baffle kit works. I just installed the same Mountune kit. Rather than spend several hours trying to grind out the original baffle, I took the oil pan to a fab shop and had them remove the baffle and weld in the new support pieces, only cost $50.

Good News!
