A little Permatex/Hylomar sealer won’t go amiss on the outer o-ring.

Pretty sure the locking bolt is 6mm x 1.0.  Lightly snug, do not tighten it down hard!

Mine wasn’t particularly tight either but it sealed.  I coat mine in Permatex #3H gasket sealer.  Hylomar would work as well.  Given your grief, I would fit the o-rings — still coated with sealer.

Facet Posiflow pumps can put out any where from 1.5 psi to 10 psi depending on the model.  The one you want would be the 60304 which puts out between 1 - 2 psi.  My personal favourite pump is a German-made, SU-l knock-off, pump sold by BPNW.

I do not recommend using a pressure regulator.  They have been known to turn into fuel “shower-heads” and, time and time again, I have found the marked scale to bear no relationship to reality.

Garage / Re: Anyone using aftermarket seats?

Hi

Personally I think the original Europa seats suit the car so well that it would be a shame to use anything else. I have no issues with custom trimming. Its not like Elans and in my case +2's where I refuse to use the standard seats because (at least on UK cars) there are no head restraints, and for me that is a total no-no. So both my +2's have aftermarket seats.

All the best

Garage / Reassembling the TCS doors
« Last post by Kendo on Today at 02:14:38 PM »
I'll be reassembling my TCS doors soon and have a few questions.

1) If I hang the door with no hardware and get a good gap all around, will it sag when I add the weight of the windows and motors? Or is it pretty stiff?

2) Someone described disassembling the motors to clean them up. Does anyone have a link to that discussion? It involved releasing that big spring, so I want some guidance in doing that.

(I know I've seen this before, but can't find any search hits.)

The seats from the Elise might work but you'd have to make/modify custom seat runners to fit. They are narrow and basically just a fibreglass shell with minimal padding and, IMO, far too expensive for what they are ! I'd expect it would be cheaper to restore the Europa originals than buy s/h Elise seats.

I have seen similar shells sold as kit car/competition seats which would probably work, something like this;
