CAPESTHORN HALL CHESHIREG
« on: Saturday,June 05, 2021, 12:05:44 PM »
Thought I might post this of my car on display at the first major Classic Show to be on in North of England this year.

Capesthorne Hall is a traditional English Country Mansion with massive grounds now used for weddings and various shows etc.

I got there early on and one of the organisers asked me if I wanted to go on the Concours section as they still have spaces. I was the only Europa at the show and although my car is not as good as all the motors round me but it generated a lot of interest.

It was a sunny day with about 2000 people in attendance and probably about 100+ classics on show along with autojumble.

Let`s hope this is the start of getting back to normal and enjoying our cars!

Yes indeed! Let's hope!

That last is a motley group of cars, isn't it?

Your Europa is a very unusual colour. Mint Green? Is that an original colour, or a recent colour change?

That colour does suit the car well.

 :Welcome:
Laystall Green which was a Lotus racing colour for a couple of years in 1960`s
Not too sur about it when I first got the car this year but it has grown on me and most people that see it are complimentary.
Previous owner has spent a lot of money on a paint job so I will be keeping it.

I like it. I think I recall seeing Elites in this colour from back in the day.
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

It was the colour used by BRP - Stirling Moss’ father was one of the partners and Stirling drove for them when not under contract.
The team name changed to UDT Laystall racing after one of the very first sponsorship deals….there are quite a few different types of car that you can find in period pics painted in the same colour, Lotus 18, 19, 24 and Coopers, BRM’s etc.
