I would love to know what engine and gearbox are in that car.

It sounds like a close ratio box, and the gear changes are very quick.

My guess is a 1600cc 4 valve engine, mated to a Hewland transaxle.

The TC bodied car looks to be powered by a motorcycle engine, can’t distinguish what make (suspect Kawasaki) but it has an interesting looking chassis (square tube backbone with rocker arm front suspension and double wishbone rear end) that has been specially constructed.
I might be incorrect but it also appears to have perished in a fire involving his transporter wagon unfortunately.
