Fragile
« on: Monday,April 04, 2022, 06:52:00 AM »
Went to get a quarter glass down and found this,  I placed it in the frame in perfect shape just a day before.   Nothing heavy nearby 😪. There goes that sale.
  YIKES there fragile!

I Adjusted my passenger door track so the electric window actuator would work better.
I got a glass shower.  I found the last new window in the world at sjs in England.
I hope you can find another 1/4 window.

  Pfreen,
I didn’t need it, I was going to sell it and after just placing it on a shelf the day before, I found it shattered.
I remember I said I’ll place it in the frame to keep it safe , must have caught a chipped edge .

Do we have an option of using plexiglass for the replacement?  The only piece of glass I have for my build is the windscreen.  I have felt that if I have to, that plexiglass would work for all of the rest with the exception of the side window glass, which would scratch as it's rolled up and down.

I don't think it is flat.  I know the door glass is curved.

I think someone does sell plexiglass replacements though.  I don't know offhand who though.

S1a and S1b "vent" windows were plexiglass from the factory.  They are curved.

My early S2 has the plexiglass "vent" windows. No doubt, another example of legendary Lotus frugality in using up the superseded parts inventory.

I also have one plexiglass quarter . It was/ is the exact same size and curve and thickness.
I purchased it eBay just for emergency. Right side only .
