« on: Tuesday,May 11, 2021, 09:20:46 AM »
Does anyone know a location to view a TCS federal wiring diagram? Can find TC but no TCS? Thanks much.

You're welcome!  :)

Now, to your question. There are two different wiring diagrams for the TCS.

Got the wiring diagram, but not sure how the dome light is supposed to operate. Is the switch on the dome light only to turn it off when the doors are open?

Light always comes on with door open. Switch is to turn it on with the doors closed (so passenger can read maps, or you can see what you are doing when you are parked)

On my car, the switch turns it on manually.  There is no way to manually turn it off, bypassing the door switches.  I have the connectors pulled out of the door switches because I don't typically drive at night and I don't want to run the battery flat by leaving the doors open.

With the switch to the left (looking toward the front of the car), the light only turns on when a door is opened. With the switch to the right, the light is on whether the doors are opened or not.

BDA, just can't seem get the wiring to work in that fashion based on the wiring diagram? Any works of wisdom?

Don’t discount the possibility that mine is incorrect!  ;)

What does yours do?

Are you dealing with the original wires?

BDA, Original switch with purple/black, purple and a ground. With current input to either wire the light will not operate as you stated? Something must be amiss. Any ideas?

Check your door switches, your fuse for your purple wires, connections, and your grounds, of course. I’ll try look at how my light is wired. I had a problem with the bullet connectors so I replaced them with spade connectors.

Think I got it! Misinterpreted the line routing thru the switch and the wiring diagram. Thanks for the help.
