Found history, Black Otter Hill Climb in Billings, MT early 90's!
« on: Tuesday,October 20, 2020, 04:56:36 PM »
EDIT, Video found!

Got some more details of the Competition History of my '71.
Hoping someone might remember it, even better if they have a pic or two!
I am told it ran at the Black Otter Hill-Climb's in Billings, MT early 90's.
Probably in the light blue that remains on the door sills.

I am also told "The engine came from a R16 Gordini, with the exception of the pistons and cam.  I know they were different".

Still hoping to get in touch with that prior owner.
I have no idea if those events might give me any standing for vintage racing entry, or if they even matter.

I've been through Billings, not a major metropolis and very surprised that they used to have a hill-climb event.
But hey, you cannot spend ALL of your time chasing cattle and hunting Antelope.  ;)

Two more views in Pt. 2.
Parked at 5:13 and running at 5:30.
Too bad the camera operator yanked away for a moment.

Better view but more exposure would have been better!

No luck finding more video but it does seem this Hill-Climb may still be running.
Hmm, reunion event?

My first ever screenshot, took a few tries to make it fit.

I think I am keeping the Blue!
But it needs a contrasting stripe of some sort.

Time for an update.
I've been crazy busy moving out of my rented workshop in favor of a shop built at home.
That has been proceeding much more slowly than I would like but is moving along.
All of the cars and tools are finally home and on the new concrete pad.
Really hope to get the main structure done this weekend.
Every time I glance in the Europa's direction I want to drop everything else and work on it.  :))
