It's hard to tell what the pieces look like but from what I can see, the body and the frame look really good! Good luck and keep us informed!

Great pictures. Keep posting your progress as you go along. You will enjoy reading it two years from now. Your demister grilles look like mine and the dash mount flange also . I just fixed mine be today with some stock aluminum ,glassed in, drilled and tapped .
Don’t store anything on top of the cars panels. Roof.  Check you’re pillars.
Don’t turn panels upside down or to dry especially when wet.
   Label and keep everything .

Most of all,enjoy yourself .

There is nothing to label, because I got the car totally taken apart.
But I have the lotus workshop manual and learned a lot already from this great forum.
The pilars look ok, but I want to strenghten them where they meet the roof.
The parts I got look ok, I have new carpet, nice chairs and doorpanels.
The engine looks like it came right out of the shop, but I do not know whats done to it.
Maybe someone here reconizes it and can tell me something about it.
Got a lot of extra parts which I will be selling on this forum (just posted some), and if unsold on Ebay.
Already sourced some missing parts also like a heatherbox, wiper assembly, wheels, emblems etc.
Still looking for rear (adjustable)shocks, windshield and the metal piece between engine and engine mount (clutch side, the one with the hole)
Will try to post pictures of the progress, thanks for your inspiration, Bert

Hi Bert, that is a Renault wedge engine . There should be a identification tag on the block with the model nbr, (example) 821-30, serial nbr 1234. On block just below the head. That number should be on your built plate under bonnet.

http://lotus-europa.com/manuals/s2work/e/index.htm#1

That bracket with a hole is a motor mount bracket . I can post those measurements so you can make yourself.

Great pics Bert. You've got the project underway. Don't forget about the Saab, though - it is a nice project too.  It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife! The bonnet made it to NC, only now it's waiting to be carried back to FL. LOL.

Hi guys,

I know this is a wedge engine, but I only was curiuos if anyone could idintify this particular engine so I would know what has been done with it.
Looking at the paint it came rigt out of the machineshop (I hope)
But once in the chassis I will just fire it up and see how it performs, but that will probably next winter, as we leave to the Netherlands in 6 weeks
R D has the bracket for sale, but I figured that someone on this forum would have one lying around

Andy congrats with your snowbird home?

Thanks Bert! Yes, moved the first van load last week. Still have the "heavy" stuff to go.
