ANG Classic Car Parts

Another retailer, much like SJ Sportscars, selling Lotus parts.

They claim to sell inertia seat belts. I have ordered. I wonder if they will be the right ones.

We were able to modify universal seat belts from Summit Racing for my Elan Plus 2.  We rethought the mount and they work a treat!  The only major change was the free length was too long for in the retracted position but we were able to shorten and reinstall all the Lotus hardware on the belts.

1969 Europa S2
1970 Lotus Elan +2
1978 Austin Mini - 1275, big brakes
1991 Ford Explorer - Lifted on 33s, custom lift and radius arms
2005 Chrysler 300C - chipped, lowered 22s
2011 Cadillac Escalade - Stage 3 cam, Headers, CAI, 2,600 stall converter

If they are the correct belts with the proper plastic cover then that's a great price.

When I converted mine I couldn't find any with the Lotus plastic cover or designed specifically for mounting like on the Europa.  Since then I see that  SJS now have the plastic cover on their website at £18 each, so ANG have a good deal there.

They are not the "correct" belts as in exact replicas of the originals.  They are commonly-available, replacement belts that can be made to work.  Typically they have an adjustable inertia sensor to suit a variety of mounting positions.  Don't get me wrong, they will work fine (if correctly ordered) but they are not original Kangols.

I have bought before from ANG classic car parts, and they were very helpful. When I ordered headlight rims and they didn't work on my car, they sent me another set without issue. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the link. I found a needed item there I had been searching for quite some time. Cheers.
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

The seat belts arrived. They look like a straight swap for the original inertia belts, not the same, but similar enough to be a good replacement, and at that price, IMHO a bargain.

That sounds great! Do the retractors fit under the plastic covers?

Yes, they are a tight fit, but the covers do go over.

You have to make the off-centre letter box hole in the plastic cover bigger to pass the buckle through, but the covers can be easily made to fit.

That sounds like the trick then!
