Starter motor options / interchangeability S2
« on: Friday,July 28, 2017, 11:09:44 AM »
hi all,
has anyone tried to fit a newer Renault starter motor to their S2?
mine sits very close to the exhaust, so looking for options for a small size starter (it's hard to start when the engine is hot and not a lot of clearance for a heat shield.

thanks

I would think you'd be able to find a gear reduction starter. They are usually smaller than the old '60 - '70's starters and they have a lot more torque at the flywheel.

rdent.com has them.  Probably Banks as well.

Try AngloParts seeing as you're in Belgium.  They appear to be a Gustafson starter dealer http://www.gustafsonmachine.com/.  Keith seems to supply just about everybody.
