WTD: Heater Fan for Twin Cam
« on: Wednesday,August 17, 2016, 08:51:58 AM »
I am looking for a working heater fan (the one that is mounted in the front luggage compartment) for a twin cam Europa. Let me know if you have one for sale. Thanks, Dan

I have bought computer 12v fans from Maplin and will install 1 on each of the side vent holes, and one behind the heater matrix, so you can individually switch the 3 to get better heating etc.

IMHO the original fan only worked if you put nothing in the compartment, and had a perfect seal between the opening cover and the body.

Unless you're aiming for an original look to the front compartment, I can now confirm that the motorcycle blower I fitted a few months ago really does work well. I mentioned it briefly in this thread just after I'd bought it;

It's now fitted and is so far improved from the OEM version it's like a different car. I think the reason is the way the air is channelled forwards into the compartment, plus of course the blades are a more efficient design and probably shift more air from that alone.

You need to be creative in making up mounts of course, and this installation does need tidying up (another winter job  ;)  ) but otherwise it's a fairly straightforward mod.

Mine died a number of years ago and NAPA had a Delco unit that was a direct bolt-in.

Paul, do you happen to have the part number for the fan? Thanks.

Dan,

There is a guy on ebay selling a Twin Cam Radiator Fan.  He also has a heater blower mower for sale, although it is not posted.  You may way to contact him:

Mike Lemke: racersedge817@msn.com

(I was interested in the radiator fan, so I had him send me a pic and I saw the heater blower in the pic.)
