WTB 336 Transmission amd TC bellhousing

just picked up a pair of Europas - a 65 and a 74. No engines or gearboxes were included. I'm thinking Kent 1600 for engines but need gearboxes. Anyone have a 356 and TC adapter plate or a 365 needing a new home? I'm located in the Denver, CO area 80138

Just making sure you know that the Kent engine doesn't require an adapter plate but only a bell housing. Also I assume you're asking for those trannies because your frames have the rear tranny pickup tube for those. Mixing trannies and frames requires fabrication.

Bill, you said 356, but did you mean 352 (4-speed)?

correct - still learning - I have attached a pic of the lower / rear mount. Actually, I only need one box. The other chassis is a bit unique in that is has a removable rear bulkhead - much like an FF or FB car - As this is/was/will be a race car I'm guessing a PO modified it for a Hewland

It looks like a 336 mount to me also. I just happen to have a complete 336 tranny and TC bell housing from a parted out TC that I may sell. I've attached some pictures. The first one is from a wrecked S2 showing the rear tranny mount for a 336. The second an third are the 336 and TC bell housing. Sorry for the crappy pictures. It's currently raining in July in sunny San Diego

If you're willing to do a local pickup, I'll sell both for $500 for the bell housing and $200 for the 336. I shipped two trannies in the past and I swore that I would never do that again. Plus I don't have the time to crate them up.

BDA, the stuff you pick up over the years, it's time to let them go to people who may need the parts. And yeah, I have a few engines

I have finally started getting rid of some of the Lotus parts I haven't needed since I got my car together fifteen years ago! However, I did sell my spare twincam engine and 365 tranny a long time ago. I had no place to put them! Having lots of space is a blessing and a curse!

Well, when things slow down for me later on this year, I may reconsider crating the tranny for shipping. The offer will still be open so when the time comes that you really need the tranny, send me a reminder. Also, if you're willing to pay the cost, I can look into having a UPS store package the unit for shipping.

well, I got a "new" chassis for the project so I'm guessing I'm back to needing a 352 or 365? (tranny ears go down)

FYI - the 365 rear hoop that picks up the rear of the tranny is flattened rather than curved (if you catch my drift). There is a tranny mounting adapter that is bolted to the end of the tranny and to the rear hoop through holes directly in the hoop. In other words, it doesn't have ears. See the picture below. The top hoop, labeled '10' (if you can read it), is for the 365. It and the hoop below it, labeled '9' are both for 352 trannies. Maybe the fact that the 352 bolts to either the same hoop as the 365 or a hoop with ears is confusing you - it confuses me, but I don't have any experience with the 352.
