Having that Spyder frame is a great selling point. It looks like very nice project. Good luck to the buyer and seller!

The re-spray and the re-trim means it is a complete strip down so £15k is about right.

The gear-knob is from a 5 speed, and from the video it looks like a 5 speed, but from the video the paintwork is truly shockingly awful, crazing everywhere.

I remember this car was on ebay and initially looked like your typical barn find, covered in years of grime etc. The seller then cleaned it/power washed it all up, painted the cam cover etc to make it more attractive but I cant remember if it sold. I still have the original pictures on my pc somewhere. £15k plus commission plus full restoration will be uneconomic in my opinion.

Looks like chassis number is 73082184P.

Quite how that makes it a 1974 car, I can only guess it sat in a dealers for a few months before being registered.

Lotus-Ford won the GP World Championship for makes, but that was not until October, so the badge on the side with 1972 being the last, would have been correct when it rolled off the production line.

IMHO, a 1974 car would be built in 1974, and have the 1973 WCCC badge on the side, from about chassis number 74012340 onwards.   

I agree that £15,000 is a very "full" estimate of the price it should achieve at auction.
