A few interesting Europas on Ebay
« on: Thursday,November 14, 2019, 08:39:31 PM »
They are "interesting" but they are also on the same page as our Certified Lotus' listing so they look sad in comparison. They look like decent foundations for a project and some more of a project than others. Take a look:

'72 TCs The first has pretty substantial bodywork mods, the second is very rough and a pretty big project, the third is a '74 and has an A/C of unknown condition but overall very rough, the fourth is pretty nice but the motor doesn't seem to run:

The title is very confusing: "1971 Lotus Europa 1973 LOTUS EUROPA TWIN CAM SPECIAL, JPS # 32" but then in the description he makes it clear it is an S2. It seems to be a reasonable start a more minor project.

If I was going to rebuild another Europa I would buy the fourth car. The body and interior seem to be in good condition. An engine rebuild is going to happen with three of the four cars.

Of course, pictures of all four corners of the suspension and chassis are a must before buying any Europa.

The white car is over modified and would be a difficult resale at some point.

And, as the saying goes......buy the best example you can afford to buy.

I agree with you, Certified. While the body mods on the white car appear to be done well, they do not appeal to me and that is the problem with a lot of body mods - or even mods in general - they may not appeal to people you might want to sell it to.

Got to agree with you on the white one, the body mods aren't my cup of tea either. But, each to their own. Looking at the photos though, I noticed the rear axles - they are VW axles...

I actually like the white one. I am ok with a restomod if the mods were for functional purposes and done well.  With 9" rims in the back and 8" rimms in the front, this car could wear some serious rubber and kill at the track.  The red 72 for $8,500 has L14 as the original colour (Colorado Orange) on the vin tag.  Whoever buys it, I hope they return it to its original color.

Well, I certainly don't have anything against restomods!  :)
