Title: ‘70 S2 project on BaT - no reserve
Post by: BDA on Sunday,November 28, 2021, 08:04:25 AM
Title pretty much says it all. The body looks to be in decent shape but the new owner may want to address the paint job and the cutouts for the driving lights. It has Cosmics too which is nice but with admittedly amateur frame repairs and other things that are cobbled together, tit’s going to be a lot of work to get it to realize its potential. It is running and there is no reserve so that helps.

Needs a new chassis and it has one 65 and one 54 front quarter.

I saved a pic from the front as it really show the difference in fenders being on the same car!

So it does! This is very helpful for a model project I have coming up. I need to convert a TC body shell (in 1/24 scale) to an S1, and visualising the different profile of the two fender types can be difficult from staring at random photos off the web. Seeing them together and painted the same on this car is a huge help.

It seems there are a number of, um, creative solutions on this car. Check out that glove box door. Looks like a tea cupboard.

Was sold for $5,800. Given the weirdnesses the frame, that's probably the most that could have been hoped for.

Well it didn't go for much money and no a lot of interest so it must have been in very poor condition with the amateur repairs...too bad

Besides, no ashtray. Though, I would have thought the innovative cupboard door on the glove box would have compensated somewhat, but I guess not.

Yeah that cupboard door was a bit of class, wasn't it?

I was perusing Lotus Supplies items (I don't want to know what that might be a symptom of!) and they actually claim to seel new ashtrays! (https://www.lotus-supplies.com/parts/accessories/interior/new-complete-ashtray/)  Who knew!?
