S2 Gear Linkage

It looks as though my gear linkage is all updated to the later version, except on the centre pivot bracket, the manual shows an extra pair of holes need to be drilled to offset the pivot slightly. If mine was a later factory updated version would the bracket have simply been repositioned and therefore just have the one set of holes?
