Part commonality list
« on: Wednesday,September 27, 2023, 11:48:28 AM »
I used to have a list that laid out the original vehicle a lot of the Europa (S2 in my case) parts came from.  Front brakes are Spitfire, front lights are GT6, etc.  For the life of me, I cannot find it.  Is there a sticky that lists what came fron where?

My front suspension is apart, so in particular I'm looking for a source for bushings.

THanks,

Art

I thought GGLC had such a list. But I'm not finding it with a quick search. https://www.gglotus.org/

Here is one page that every Europa owner should have bookmarked: http://lotus-europa.com/manuals/

There are a couple of parts cross references listed: https://www.gglotus.org/ggpart/europacr.htm http://lotus-europa.com/parts.asp and this one for TCs might still be useful: http://lotus-europa.com/manuals/lotuswest/74MC083.html.

In addition, this page might be useful too: http://www.syer.net/frontsuspension.htm but if you go up one level, there is a lot more information that is available: http://www.syer.net/latest.htm

Hopefully somewhere in all that will be the information you need.

Got this in an email just today RE Renault engines.

"A big upgrade is using connecting rods designed for a MR2 turbo.  They have the same size lower end, a bigger wrist pin, and they are 1mm longer.  I use Eagle rods,

They are good for something like 800hp and are about 100 grams lighter than the Renault original rod"s.

But this would require custom pistons.
