Testing your ignition
« on: Monday,March 01, 2021, 09:53:53 AM »
I have recently had a reason to check into my ignition system (it turned out that everything is good. My problem turned out to be fouled spark plugs. This is a good teaching moment - test and resolve the easy (and/or cheap) possibilities first (one of basic those rules that I so often forget!)

But forgetting that rule ended up giving me a better understanding of the ignition system. I haven't had that many ignition problems so this experience had some positives.

I've attached a document tests that the Pertronix tech guy sent me. It's for Pertronix systems but there are useful tests for any ignition system for a vintage car.

That's nice of you to attach the PDF. It will be there forever and will help many at some point.

Thanks BDA. Downloaded and cataloged for the day when I (hopefully won't) need it.

Cheers BDA.
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.
