Title: Classic le mans trip
Post by: Sparkrite on Monday,July 04, 2022, 02:34:24 PM
Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to all the fellow members who have helped get my barn find federal tcs going.
I have just returned from a 600 mile drive from the UK to the le mans classic event and the car went great. I have done so many things to get the car going so I was worried something might go wrong but it was well behaved. We took the b roads where the speed was limited to 110 miles per hour and the car was very well suited to this drive. I still have a few more tweaks to improve the gearchange and possibly carb tune as I'm still not sure if the large chokes in weber 40's are correct but it does pull strong, particularly over 4000 rpm. Maybe a 0 to 60 acceleration test would give a good benchmark.

:-)

I was going to say, if it didn't blow up at a 110 mph, the jetting was probably pretty good!

I was thinking...Crikey!  At 70 mph I feel like I'm going 130 or so in a 'regular' car, that being a 2007 Subaru.
