Hi guys
I was checking the electrical system of my Europa TC (UK) and i noticed that there are some parts unconnected such as reverse lamp and engine cooling fan thermostat switch.
Does someone know where can i find the brake switch in order to restore the original wiring that connected brake switch to reverse switch?
I need to fix a new contacs on the reverse switch because the original are broke but however i test it and function
Thank you

Hi Vito,
I'm not sure of all you're asking. The reverse switches should be generally available. I bought one for my NG3 from a regular parts house in the US. I suspect pretty much all the Renault trannies of the time used the same switch. I noticed that r.d. enterprises (http://www.rdent.com/) lists the same switch I got for my NG3 for all late S2s and TCs. You might look for a Renault Fuego switch.
The brake switch is under the battery and IIRC it is connected to a relay under the dash - but that may be US cars, only. In the US, the same light works the brake and turn signal lights in the rear. I wanted to use the red/yellow/white European lams so I separated the brake circuit and just used the switch activated by brake pressure.
I hope that helps a little, anyway.

Hi,
The brake switch on my car (1972 TC) is an hydraulic one in the brake lines and IIRC it was originally fitted to a brass multiple hydraulic joint on the LHS of the engine bay, just below the servo unit near the engine mounts. The trouble with these cars is that so often they've been changed by a previous owner but that's the first place I'd look.

My brake switch works off a hydraulic pressure sensor, bolted to the chassis, just below the battery, where the exhaust manifold is located.

Hi
thank you guys fot your informations, i found the brake switch near the battery. I connected the brake switch to one pin of the reverse switch and the oder pin to the reverse lamps but i saw that it functioned only when the rear gear is in and the brakes are in action.
thank you to all.
