Position of wiring loom.
« on: Sunday,January 01, 2017, 06:51:20 AM »
Sorry if this sounds a bit odd but I didn't get to take my car apart so I missed some very obvious things. When refitting the carpets and centre console does the wiring loom sit on the side of the tunnel or the top of the tunnel.  Clearly if I  Get this wrong then the final fit will be out wrong.

On a TCS the loom goes from the top RHS along the top on the tunnel to the right of the gear stick and hole, and through the rear bulkhead to the engine and rear lights etc.

Thanks, that was my first thought. I assume the centre console will just sit happily on top but I guess the LHS needs building up a bit to keep it level.

The centre console has room underneath for the wiring.

The limiting thing for the console is where it bolts to the bracket which holds the choke and heater cables in place.

Oh that sounds a shock, I don't think I have that bracket.

I assume your's is the same as on a TC. The bracket anchors the heater and choke cables and has a clip for a light to illuminate the knob area. The bracket supports and anchors the front of the console pad. There are two aluminum spacers about 1/2" underneath the bracket that the two bolts that mount the bracket to the frame.

Phew, found it.  Unfortunately I didn't take my car apart so  it arrived as several boxes of random parts. Thanks for your advice.
