Un leaded conversion

i have a brand new unused Renault engine to fit into my 1970 Europa. Should I take the head of and have it converted to lead free or fit it as it is and use an additive.

I'm not aware of the Renault engine having valve recession issues and alloy heads have hardened valve seats already.
